Sit Still

All 3 older kids are off to school.  Said goodbye to them this morning.  They were either being brave for Mom or they are just well adjusted children.  Having some time with Macy here at home before we leave this afternoon.  And some time to reflect.

As I try to get her to listen to a story I am pleading with her over and over to sit still.  The irony of this is that for many months I would have NEVER said that to Macy.  Sitting still was her best quality, and one we worked hard to remedy.  Thankfully she has grown and loves to move now.  But even though she can move, her mommy still wants her to sit still at times.

Reminds me so much of what God is trying to teach me.  Even though I have grown in Him and through Him am able to lead and do all kinds of things, He as my Father, wants me to sit still some times.

As I think of the lonely flight I will take this evening and the LONG flight I will be taking tomorrow, I am a bit overwhelmed with the length of time I will be forced to sit still.  But that is a piece of the journey, so I want to embrace it and sit in it rather than freak out hoping it will be over soon which would  be my typical response.

Praying God will show me when to move and when to be still over the next 2 weeks.  Thank you for your prayers.  I know they are what is keeping me going.

  3. Can't wait to hear how things go! I am so excited for you. Go love little ones in His name. I promise that the long ride to Africa will be a faded memory when you see their faces. <3 Carla
