leaving the hospital, Gaby's home for 120 days...
happy to be in Indiana...
finally sleeping at our home together...
It is so easy to just keep going. To just keep working hard to take care of things and get it all done. It takes time to stop and be thankful. It can be hard to stop and sit and feel God's blessings. I am an "on to the next thing" person and I am trying to be more reflective and thankful. So, here goes. On Macy and Gaby's 4 month birthday, today we are celebrating God's provision.
Sitting here typing this while in our living room that is full of baby equipment and clutter and holding a sleeping, peaceful Gaby. My little Gaby that has been maintaining HIGH stats since arriving home yesterday. My little Gaby that is hearing the sounds of her brothers play video games and her sister put diapers on baby dolls and boss everyone around. My little Gaby that slept last night in bed with her sister in their beautiful room in their new home. My daughter that is a miracle of God, pure and simple. His hand has been in Gaby's entire life over the past 4 months and even BEFORE BIRTH and will continue to be in her life as she grows to love and serve Him. We are so thankful to be a part of her story and for her to be a part of ours.
God has gotten us through this far and He will continue to meet our needs. There were days and times even over the past 48 hours of traveling to Florida and back that I was so anxious I could only pray "God, please!" I had complete faith in my Jesus to get us home safely, but that didn't make the fear go away.
We are so thankful for all of you family and friends and even people we haven't had the privelege of yet meeting for your thoughts, your prayers, and your encouragement for our family. We ask just as you have cried with us, felt for us, and wondered WHY? with us, that you also celebrate with us. That you see God's glory in this chapter of the Brown's story. That we recognize His grace and love in our lives everyday, because it is always there. That we hear God's voice speak into our lives every day and have the courage and strength to obey. ALL OUR LOVE TO YOU!
They are so cute! Happy Birthday Girls!
ReplyDeleteWe can't wait to meet you!

Wonderful, heart-warming post. The girls looks so beautiful and peaceful sleeping together. Remember to ask if you need anything. I was thrilled to be able to cuddly with Macy a couple times and would be more then happy to help with any of the kids, any time needed.
ReplyDeleteI'm one of those people you haven't met :) But I am thrilled for your family and will continue to pray that Gaby's stats stay high now that she is out of the stressful hospital environment and safe in your loving home. Congratulations and blessings to your entire family!
ReplyDeleteHi guys! This is Dan, Polly, and Abbi. Remember us? We heard about your story through Jen Wieland and I am so happy we did! We have been praying for you guys. As you may know, Abbi was a 2 pound preemie and spent 96 days in the NICU and came home on oxygen for another month. Our story is so mild compared to yours, but we do understand having a child in critical health and the overwhelming feeling of coming home with all that STUFF. That sweet Gaby is blessed to have you all. And so is Macy! We love you and will continue to pray for health and healing for both girls, and for the other 3 kiddos too and for you (Gabe and Shelley) so get as much sleep as humanly possible. (not an easy prayer request for that sleep one!)
ReplyDeleteIf you need a plate of cookies or an errand run or something, please let us know.
Love, the Grismores XOXO
We praise God with you at this 4 month mile stone with your precious little daughters. God has strengthened your faith, carried you through some difficult days and will continue to do that. He is so faithful to us. We look forward to reading how God continues to work in your family's life. Harry and Lynnette Hyde
